Overview
VMmanager is ISPsystem's platform for managing hardware and container virtualisation across clusters of physical servers. It pools hosts and storage — file, LVM, Ceph, SAN/iSCSI or NAS — into failover clusters and automates VM creation, IP allocation and private networking. Monitoring uses built-in Grafana, and clients get a self-service portal for their own VMs.
- Best for
- Hosting providers and IT teams running their own KVM virtualisation clusters on owned hardware
- Pricing
- The captured pages show no prices, only a 30-day free trial, a demo stand and a sales contact; a pricing page is linked but its contents were not captured.
Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- One install covers 22,000+ VMs, 50+ clusters, 350+ hosts
- Storage options span file, LVM, Ceph, SAN/iSCSI and NAS
- Built-in Grafana metrics, IPAM and client self-service portal
- Documented VM imports from VMware, Hyper-V, Xen and VirtualBox
Trade-offs
- Self-hosted: you supply and run the servers and storage yourself
- NAS storage requires the Infra licence, not the base product
- Proprietary stack built by ISPsystem, with few open components
- No prices on the page; free trial is capped at 30 days
