Privacy policy

• Reading the site. Nothing is collected by us. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser, page requested) to run and protect the service.
• An account. If you sign in, we store your email address and the sign-in record needed to keep your session. Accounts exist so you can submit products, claim listings and read gated profile data.
• Submitting a product. We store what you enter on the form, the account that submitted it, and the payment status. Card details go to Stripe, our payment processor, and never reach us.
• Claiming a listing. We store the claim, the account that made it and the email domain used to verify ownership.
• Reporting a problem. We store the report you type and, if you give one, an email address used only to reply to that report.
• Email. If you write to hello@benchrank.ai, we keep the thread for as long as it takes to deal with it.

Three providers handle data on our behalf, each under its own privacy terms: Supabase (database and sign-in), Stripe (payments) and Vercel (hosting and logs). We do not sell personal data and do not share it with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

The only cookies are session cookies set when you sign in, so that the next page knows who you are. They are not used to track you across sites and there are no third-party, analytics or advertising cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner to dismiss.

Account data is kept while the account exists. Submission and claim records are kept while the product is listed, because they are the audit trail for how it got here. Problem reports are kept until resolved and then for a short period in case the same issue comes back. Server logs expire automatically within weeks.

You can ask to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you by emailing hello@benchrank.ai from the address on your account. Deleting an account removes the account; a product listing that was submitted through it stays, because the listing is about the product, not about you. Where local law gives you further rights, such as the right to complain to a supervisory authority, those apply too.

The rankings are built from information that companies publish about their own products: websites, documentation, pricing pages, changelogs and status pages. That is business information, not personal data. If a page we measured includes something personal about you and you would like it left out, tell us.

When this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes to what we collect will be noted on the blog.
