Strengths and trade-offs

Strengths

  • Free and open source; no account or subscription required
  • Accounts and history stay in a local database on your device
  • Standalone macOS, Windows, Linux and iOS builds, plus Docker self-hosting
  • Covers investments, net worth, spending and retirement planning

Trade-offs

  • Brokerage imports and device sync need the paid Connect subscription
  • No Connect prices are shown, so the ongoing cost is unclear
  • Without Connect, accounts are maintained by manual entry or CSV import
  • Broker coverage has to be checked against Connect's supported list
