Overview
Tyk is an API management platform built on an API gateway that proxies REST, GraphQL, gRPC, Kafka, MQTT, MCP and A2A traffic. It applies rate limiting, authentication, quotas and policies before requests reach the backend, with a dashboard, developer portal and OpenTelemetry observability. It runs as Tyk Cloud, hybrid, or entirely self-managed including air-gapped.
- Best for
- Teams running REST, GraphQL, gRPC and AI agent traffic that need self-hosted API management
- Pricing
- Three plans are published — usage-based Core, flat-rate Professional and contact-sales Enterprise — but no figures are shown anywhere on the pricing page; a free trial is offered.
- Runs on
- WebSelf-hosted
