Overview
Operately is open source project management with built-in OKR goal tracking. Goals are set with measurable targets and connected to projects, each with an owner, milestones and scheduled async check-ins, so project progress feeds goal progress without status meetings. It runs as a hosted cloud service or self-hosted on your own infrastructure under the Apache 2.0 licence.
- Best for
- Small and mid-sized teams that want OKR-style goals tied to projects, hosted or self-hosted.
- Pricing
- Free for up to 10 users, then flat plans at $49, $149 and $249 per month for 30, 100 and unlimited users; self-hosting is free.
- Runs on
- WebSelf-hosted
Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- Apache 2.0 licensed; free to self-host with unlimited users
- Flat plan pricing with no per-seat fees
- Goals link to projects, so progress rolls up automatically
- Every project has a named owner and scheduled check-ins
Trade-offs
- Cloud plans cap users and storage, so growth forces a tier upgrade
- Free plan limited to 10 users, 10 GB and community support
- Extra storage costs $49/month per 1 TB block
- Deliberately opinionated structure rather than a flexible canvas
